What are Pulse Wipers? Pulse wiper systems were developed for instances such as very light rain or mist build up on the windshield. In these cases, the low wiper setting works too fast requiring the driver to manually turn the wipers on and off to clear the windshield. Leaving the wipers on low without sufficient water on the windshield can result in running the wiper blades across a semi dry windshield leading to annoying squeaks or blade vibration which can lead to excessive wear and tear on the wiper system components. Pulse wipers is a delay mode that supplies just enough power needed to run the wipers every few seconds; and in some model years, can be adjusted from as little as 2 seconds to up to 10 seconds. Each time the wipers need to wipe, they get power to perform a single sweep at the low speed.
