Note: Measuring and cutting will be required. The Universal X-Change is designed to connect after your collector reducers or down-pipes under the transmission cross-member.
Since V8s fire unevenly, exhaust exits in pulses rather than in a steady flow. While one pipe is filled with pressure, the other pipe is relatively pressureless, but the connecting of the two pipes in a Siamese pattern allows pressure to be released to the other side. This action allows the exhaust to pass through the pipes quicker, and this improved "breathing" increases horsepower.
Eckler's crossover pipes, brought to you by Pypes Exhaust Systems, are designed to connect to your Chevy's factory catalytic converters and run to the mufflers. These free-flowing, mandrel-bent Pypes X-Change crossovers have reinforcing plates at critical locations and are available in polished 304 stainless steel for years of high-powered performance. 304 stainless steel has greater chromium content and greater corrosion resistance than traditional 409 grade steel.
This Conjunctive Crossover design is a proven winner. Expect to gain 15-25 HP on all of our crossover models! Open Port Exhaust provides a straight path when uncapped yet still utilizes the benefits of our crossover technology for an extra 10-15 HP. X-Change is also the perfect crossover to use when adding electric cutouts.
Pypes X-Change high-quality, exceptionally versatile design and performance are a proven winner when it comes to bumping up the horsepower of your daily driver or race car. There's no skimping on materials here. All crossovers include dual 304 stainless reinforcement plates at the welds, where they are needed the most.
