Before tightening support bolts, adjust flapper door so it will not contact hood when in open or closed position. Notice equal space between either side of door and hood.

Door is aligned so it makes no contact with hood in open position.

Vacuum actuator is mounted to top of actuator bracket by two speed nuts. The actuator bolt pattern mounts in one position with nipple direction toward RH passenger side. "Front Arrow" on bracket faces grille. It may be necessary to "spin" actuator plunger arm on rubber diaphragm to align the unit on bracket.

Vacuum actuator, part number 1998970, is discontinued but has been reproduced. New item 08-2110.

Correct vacuum actuator bolt has shorter shoulder. Replacement bolt has slightly longer shoulder and larger head.

Position vacuum actuator plunger over left side (driver's side) threaded section of flapper hood door. Bolt shoulder and plunger will have some play for door to easily pivot open and close.
